"We had another great show last night. Woody Moran opened up the show with his signature jazzy playing and rousing lyric. The crowd was engaged and responsive. What more could you ask for?"

"This is by far your best work. It is smooth and tasty like an old friend. I am truly sorry I didn't get to play on this Masterpiece. From the perfectly placed piano, the acoustic guitar as the bass and drum lock together forming a solid foundation. The vocals are full of passion and the phrasing is masterful, taking the listener on a journey through the landscape Woody creates for his character. The cool blend of jazz, soul and old school rock, gives all of us "older songwriters" hope that real music is always welcome. The mix is superb although I did feel the kick in "Cowboy Babylon", was a little too up front for my taste, but that's just me. Over all, A Brand New Situation, is a five star celebration of quality music, songwriter craft and production skills. The stand out tracks are " Cowboy in Babylon" and "Walking on a Saturday Night". The only thing I missed were soaring back ground vocals to support the mastery of Woody. Still it is an easy piece to sit back and enjoy with your favorite ah, beverage, while relaxing to this wonderful collection of songs. The sax in Sombrero Fallout is haunting and suits the song like an expensive glove. I can't say enough about the piano work on several cuts, simply beautiful. I hope everyone gets the chance to hear this heart felt album by Woody Moran, you deserve to hear this. I've played it about 30 times in the last few days and it only gets better."

"Ramblings and thoughts as I listen to each of the songs on your new CD. I hope you enjoy.
1 - Music reminds me of Santana. I really like that! Favorite words -"Have you lost your mind, I was not in time to keep the sanity in check." Questions raised - I have been in nut case relationships before - I like the "dream just won't come true" but then song says "it will come back to you" - I don't want that relationship to come back to me.
2 - Love the piano. I would like to pick your brain about what the words mean to you.
I like the words "sailing cactus fog into Tucson" - it puts a fun image in my mind. Sometimes it feels like I am living in two worlds. The me world that everyone sees and the me world that is inside of me. Sometimes reality hits me in the face (a baseball bat) and takes me to the real me world and I am forced to combine the two worlds. That can be a good thing or a bad thing.
3 - Like the piano . Really like the chorus and the two extremes. "She's in your face and then she cools down. She's bubbling over then there's nothing to say. She's so way gone then she calms down. It's all business, then she's ready to play." I think this might be my favorite song on the CD. I like the words "I'm in the amen corner now" She's got you - you are hooked!
4 - Love the guitar in the beginning - also like the sax. Fun song - makes me smile - makes me feel good - just wondering why men don't need the pie - wives and children and mistresses only need the pie??
5 - Got a little political! AMEN - SING THOSE SONGS - STAND UP AND SHOUT! Song makes me want to STAND UP and SHOUT too! I like the words "sombrero fallout." The instrumental part with the sax is great. I like the words "everybody loves their families - we're not that different."
6 - LOVE the piano. There should be a ballet dancer dancing. I do find it a bit haunting - which isn't a bad thing.
7 - I like the words "brand new situation". I've had good girlfriends that I could be myself with. "Are there signs that they hid so deep in their hearts, exposed by the bright neon." You can let it out with a good friend. A little wildness is good for the soul!
8 - Beautiful thoughts and wording. I like the verse "I'm scared to be alone. I was your right hand, you were my left hand. We were the best plan that had happened. I was surprised to find you there." Reminds me of my relationship with my husband, Steve. When the song is all over I am feeling YEA - I'm gonna make it - lifts me up - makes me want to sing!
I thought you might be interested in my thoughts. I like the CD. Steve says your voice kind of reminds him of Steely Dan. Steve likes your music too!"

"This is a master work of a contemporary blues genre - utterly spectacular work in all instrumentation, and a vocal that is delicious for the music. You create a tension between the soft vocal and that wonderful sax - especially around your "demons at the door" line. The piano work etc etc - what can I say - all done with a sensitive discretion that keeps the song focused on the lyrical outcomes of every, single passage. This is a fantastic, tantalizing work of art - right down to the highly detailed (complex) lyrics. "Two-toned stranger French from St-Croix" is purely brilliant. Thank you for giving this great, great song to the world!"

"This is one CD you don't want to miss. I had the privilege of attending the CD Release Party for Tu-Toned Stranger. I was blown away. The band was awesome. During the performance, Woody told stories behind some of the songs which gave the listener a connection to the artist."
